Dever of Terre Haute Indiana won the Hemingway Days 5K
Sunset Run held Saturday night at the Southernmost Point as
he covered the 3.1-mile out-and-back course in 17 minutes,
28 seconds. Joshua Millares of Fishers Indiana was second in
17:45, and Pembroke Pines' Andrew Iglesias finished third in
17:50. Miami's Jon Williams, 41, finished fifth overall in
18:02 to win the Masters (age 40 and over) title.

Divisions are: 9 & Under10-14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74-and 75 & Over. Plus Great giveaways and special prizes for the youngest and oldest Winners all to take place at the Southernmost Hotel 1319 Duval Street. Entry forms can be picked up at local fitness centers and local hotels A Registration booth will be open race day in the Hemingway Days Street Fair On July 24, from 2:00 PM till 4 PM at the corner of Duval & Fleming Street followed by the Southernmost Hotel, 1319 Duval Street from 5:00 PM till 7:15 PM, Runners can also register on-line up at active.com.
The course will be a flat, fast 5K (3 mile) course starting at the Southernmost Point in the Continental United States. Crimestoppers 5K Run/Walk
KEY WEST -
Jason Patchett-Gillis didn't let a little extra mileage slow
him down as he won the Crimestoppers 5K Run/Walk held Sunday
morning at Smathers Beach. Patchett-Gillis, 21, covered the
out-and-back course in 18 minutes, 43 seconds, Marathon's
Martin Sykut finished second in 20:23, and Jozef Roman of
Key West was third in 20:43.

Stoppers July 4 -- 5K Run/Walk Custom made awards will be given to first place overall male and female, first, second male and female in each age division. Divisions are 14 & under to 75 & over in five year age groups. Walkers Awards will be first through fifth Male and Female. We will also have special prizes for Patriotic Costumes. The awards ceremony will take place at the Sheraton Resort, 2001 South Roosevelt Blvd. with food & beverages and tons of give-aways. Entry forms can be picked up at the Sheraton Resort, Key West City Hall, Key West Police Department, and local fitness centers. The Sheraton Resort will host a pre-registration Saturday, July 3 between 5pm and 7pm. Race Packets can be picked up at this time or on race day July 4 from 6:00am on Smather’s Beach across from the Sheraton Resort. Turtle Trot 5K, Sigsbee
Charter School 8K and the One Mile Fun Run Great weather, Fleming course set up by Jill Lynch & Navy Fitness, presentations by Coach Doug Merrill from Power Up- who organized a historic run that began in Boston in October and concluded in Key West on April 2. Coach Merrill ran a Half Marathon every day spreading the message of achieving positive mental health through positive physical health. We also had the staff from the Turtle Hospital in Marathon bring one of the turtles down and speak as well. The Kids Run had a great turn out with over 39 participants! Thanks to all the Sigsbee and Trumbo volunteers, Dennis Gormley, Barb Wright's staff, and everyone who helped out!

17th Annual TURTLE TROT 5K RUN/WALK & INAUGURAL SIGSBEE CHARTER SCHOOL 8K RUN & ONE MILE FUN RUN presented by Bw Promotions, Key West Military Affairs, Sigsbee Charter School, Navy Fitness & NAS Key West For Immediate Release March 12, 2010 The 17th Annual TURTLE TROT 5K RUN/WALK & INAUGURAL SIGSBEE CHARTER SCHOOL 8K RUN & ONE MILE FUN RUN will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Prepare for the Seven Mile Bridge Run by running one of the original 5K Runs in Key West & the Inaugural Sigsbee Charter School 8K Run & Fun Run. Registration fee for the Turtle Trot 5K is $20, and $25 on Race Day. Turtle Trot 5K will start at 8 am. The Sigsbee Charter School 8K Run entry fee is $30, race start time 7:30 am and the One Mile Fun Run Entry Fee $10.00 with a start of 8:05am There will be Military Discount for all events of $5.00 (This includes Family Members) Our signature great t-shirts, raffles, food and drinks, beer and great giveaways are included in the entry fee. The first 200 entrants will receive a specially designed t-shirt. The Turtle Trot 5K will benefit the Turtle Hospital. and the Sigsbee 8K will benefit the Sigsbee Charter School-a marine science elementary school opening in August 2010. Over 650 Runners, we had over 740 sign up. Participants enjoyed the unusually cool Key West morning with great race times and a good time for all. We returned to the original Half Shell Half Marathon course and all activities took place at our new host location Dante's. We had over 225 volunteers and Dante's hosted the volunteer party with an outstanding buffet and plenty of beverages including Michelob Ultra. The post race party also hosted by Dante's was a huge success, with lots of food and 8 kegs of Michelob Ultra, The Gary Hempsey Band and over 70 raffles. The race Commette includes Barb Wright. 12th Annual Key West Half
Marathon Run
Our guest speaker will be Jenny Hadfield the title of the presentation: “Last Minute Tips for the Race of Your Life” Jenny Hadfield writes a monthly column in Women’s Running Magazine, Health Magazine, and writes a weekly blog on RunnersWorld.com. She is the co-author of the best-selling Marathoning for Mortals and Running for Mortals book series and is the co-owner of Chicago Endurance Sports (CES), Chicago’s largest multi-sport training company. In fact, the CES team is traveling with her to run the Key West Half Marathon! Jenny is an accomplished endurance athlete and has competed in endurance races all over the world including several Eco-Challenge Expedition Races and the Antarctica Marathon. She will be speaking at 6PM, January 30, 2010 during the Pasta Dinner & Pre-registration at Dante's Restaurant, 951 Caroline Street.
The Race in it’s 12th year has been attracting participants from all over the United States, Wisconsin, Minnesota, a group of 70 runners from Indiana, others from Delaware, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, Michigan, California and participants as far away as England and Canada and Mexico.
